Jasper has gone home!

July 31, 2009 by

Jasper arrived from the UK in April and after quarantine in Sydney he arrived in our cattery in May. He stayed with us for a couple of months and was reunited with his family after 15 months!

He is an adorable shy cat and we’ll sorely miss him. Note the tail neatly curled around the feet!

Cats Fed with chopsticks at Miyajima

July 27, 2009 by

This is one of my favourite cat photos, taken in our last trip to Japan. After lunch the cook took leftovers out and many cats converged to be fed with chopsticks.

A new production featuring Lilly and Sasha

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f29tw-OzOZA

These are delightful Burmese cats, Lilly a regular and Sasha a new sister only 3 months old. She’s a full on cat and Lil has to be very patient with her. It only took her a couple of days to learn to climb the tower, not bad for a tiny cat!

Our first Bengal cat guest

July 26, 2009 by

Our first Bengal Jupiter, has gone home. He’s only a kitten, but he will be big. These are beautiful indoor cats because they’re hunters, should never be let out unless on a harness, but I don’t think that would work for long.

You can find all the answers in this article

I know what our ragdoll Brooky is because he scoops dry food out of his bowl with his right paw!

Jezebel is in one of our YouTube productions

July 22, 2009 by

Everybody is enjoying warmer weather. Jezabel enjoys ANYTHING. Thomas disassembles his bed n’ furniture every night. Indiana’s folks didn’t make it today, maybe tomorrow?

Jezabel is now on Youtube!

Cats use purring to exploit humans, so what’s new?

July 13, 2009 by

Interesting article about how cats “exploit” humans with their purring. I had this suspicion all along!

Phoebe the chocolate Burmese went home and we miss her horribly. She stayed with us for a month while the family was OS. She’s a truly delightful cat with a lot of personality and loves people.

Kittens

July 4, 2009 by

Lately we’ve been getting a lot of lovely kittens, Patty is one of them. She said she wasn’t a morning person and it’s true. Mum and Dad joined Twitter to get her updates. It was so exciting to have our first customers following us on Twitter!

Charlie & Jessie have gone home. We’re very sorry that we thought you were a boy Charlie!

Devon Rex and Oriental Cats

July 3, 2009 by

We were so happy when Puck and Nunu’s mother rang to book them in, we hadn’t seen them for more than a year and Puck was only a kitten, we’d never seen a Devon Rex kitten before, only grown ups. He’s as adorable now as he was before.

Here’s Puck before and after

Nunu the oriental is lovely too and very patient. Devons are very active cats and an acquired taste but we love them! They’re good for people with allergies because they don’t shed. When you touch them they’re very hot because their hair is so short, so they must be kept warm in winter. They’re clever and inquisitive and extremely good climbers
