Due to the success of the recipe we published in our last blog, here is another one and good luck with it. ZaZa our oriental, continues to say “no good” to whatever I put in his bowl. He later comes and eats a bit just to make me happy.

Ground beef with oats

Ingredients
250 g beef mince
1 cups rolled oats
1 tbs butter
1 egg
1/2 cup grated carrots
1/2 cup of fish stock

Directions: Cook oats following package directions. In a large frying pan cook mince until browned. Scramble egg using butter and add to mince.

Add grated carrots and fish stock and reduce. Set aside half of this mixture just in case your cat doesn’t like oats.

Add oats to other half of beef mixture and serve. If it doesn’t work try the half without oats and give the rest to the dog (or the neighbour’s dog).

Lovely weather and all the cats happy about it, we need it to get just a tad cooler to be ideal.

The fabulous Cat Ladders Blog now features a Hall of Fame. It never ceases to amaze us how clever some people and their cats are!

The pusses happier today on our cat Brooky’s day in. He can only go out on alternate days because he thinks the neighbour’s house belongs to him (not to his cats) after 6 months empty and being his domain.

He also makes the most of it by  coming down to the cattery and saying “HaHa! you’re in and I’m out” to the guests and they don’t like it.  He runs away when he sees us grabbing the hose ready to soak him!

Beautiful autumn days and ad not so cool nights, plenty of time to catch up with the garden after a good soaking. Getting ready for the Easter break so dusting the winter equipment: quilts, furry blankets and heat pads. All will be ready on time. In the meantime we are enjoying the sunny weather and so are the cats.

Well it’s the weekend and so: it’s raining! Yes, you guessed it! Nevertheless a lot of people went away and most importantly Meggs left for Roma at last! We wish him and family a good trip.

Here we are at last on Christmas Eve: a hot, humid and windy. Big swells and a lot of the beaches closed thanks to ex-tropical cyclone Fina, in the far north. The cats don’t seem to mind and are all looking forward to the celebratory dinner of prawns and bbq chicken. Only one cat yet to arrive, Cairo just in time for a yummy dinner.
